Abstract

This study is an exploratory bibliographical research on Parental Alienation and its impacts on child development, in order to demonstrate that this event became common in litigious divorces, even before there was legislation to reprimand this type of abuse. against minors. Thus, we sought to demonstrate how this topic is relevant and current, and at the same time how little it is discussed, even though its consequences are devastating for those involved. The general objective was to demonstrate the relevance that Law n.º. 12.318/2010, known as the Parental Alienation Law, has in order to grant greater powers to judges in protecting the individual rights of children and adolescents, victims of abuses exercised by their parents. This study was justified precisely because it is a little explored topic and needs to be debated in the legal field today, so that it is fought and restrained. In the end, it was found that the legislation discussed here meant an enormous achievement for the guardianship of infants, since the alienation was legally provided for, supporting the judge so that he could act effectively and satisfactorily.
