Abstract

The present work seeks to examine the use of mediation as a way to solve the problem of Parental Alienation Syndrome, minimizing the psychological effects on those involved, especially on children and adolescents who are victims of this practice. It briefly analyzes the entire historical path of the family until reaching the Federal Constitution of 1988, analyzing the institute of family power, unilateral and shared custody and the harmful effects of a divorce on the lives of infants, which can generate great psychological and psychological damage. affective effects in minors with an alienated parent. The objective is to deal with the institute of mediation, its doctrinal concept up to the infraconstitutional level, and how the reestablishment of communication between the parties in this process is of great importance.
